BEACON project’s 4th Steering Committee Meeting was held on 13th June 2022 in Lund, Sweden. The meeting was very productive, with many face-to-face discussions on the project’s progress and individual outputs. The steering committee meeting was successfully concluded with a plan for the data collection.
The second newsletter of the BEACON project was published. The newsletter demonstrated a discussion around the findings of Output 1: Climate Change Impacts in coastal regions. Furthermore, the newsletter included details about several international platforms where BEACON’s findings were presented.
To strengthen the market for disaster and climate-resilient infrastructure systems, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) developed an online CDRI Resilient Infra-structure Marketplace to match demand from CDRI Member Countries requiring technical services and assistance with companies, universities and organizations that can provide services to meet this demand. The country-level findings of Intellectual Output 1 were presented at the 7th International Conference on Humanities and Social Science. The presentation covered on the UK case study on climate change impact on coastal built environment.
Based on the findings of Output 1 how the climate change impacts links to the coastal built environment were presented at the International Conference on “Geography and Global Sustainability” (ICGGS 2021). The UK based results were presented and received positive feedback from the audience.

The first newsletter of the BEACON project was published. The newsletter demonstrated the project background, project aims and objectives and explained the project process in detail. Furthermore, the newsletter included a write-up on the “Need of identifying climate change impacts in the built environment in coastal regions.”
A project poster was presented at the 5th Global Summit of GADRI: Engaging Sciences with Action Abstract submitted for the E-Poster session on “Climate change impacts on the coastal built environment”.
The findings of Intellectual Output 1 was presented at the 2nd International Symposium on Disaster Resilience & Sustainable Development. The presentation was done on the topic of “A review of climate change impacts on the coastal built environment”.
